Most scaffolding systems use scaffolding leveling jacks in construction. What is a scaffolding leveling jack? How to use it? This article will introduce the scaffolding leveling jack.
Scaffolding leveling jacks are usually made of 38mm diameter Q355 steel material, equipped with forged nuts, and have a galvanized surface treatment. They are suitable for all types of scaffolding systems. Scaffolding leveling jacks are also known as Base Jacks or scaffolding Screw Jacks, and are the basic components at the bottom of the scaffolding. A scaffolding leveling jack consists of a nut, a threaded rod, and a base plate. By rotating the nut to adjust each scaffolding vertical standard, a stable and level scaffolding system can be built on uneven ground.
Scaffolding leveling jacks come in two types: solid and hollow. Solid base jacks have a stronger load-bearing capacity and are suitable for large construction projects, while hollow base jacks are lighter, making them easier to assemble and transport. For general projects, the load-bearing capacity of hollow base jacks is sufficient.
Advantages of Scaffolding Leveling Jacks
The sturdy steel ensures that the base jack can withstand heavy loads for a long time without bending.
Using advanced surface galvanizing technology, it is corrosion-resistant and rust-proof, able to resist corrosion from rain, mud, and chemicals, increasing its outdoor service life.
Simple operation, just rotate the forged nut to adjust the height of the base jack. The adjustment accuracy is high, allowing for the construction of a completely level and stable scaffolding system.
There is a sturdy square base plate at the bottom, increasing the contact area with the ground, improving stability, and preventing the scaffolding vertical standard from sinking into soft ground.
All scaffolding leveling jacks meet the EN12811 standard.
Scaffolding leveling jacks are usually used to support the vertical load of the scaffolding system, adjust the level of the scaffolding system, prevent the scaffolding system from sinking and tilting, and ensure worker safety. They can be used almost anywhere, without special requirements for the geographical environment.
Scaffolding Jack Use Guide
1. Clean the ground: Clean up debris from the ground. For soft and muddy ground, a layer of wooden boards or steel plates can be laid to distribute the weight of the scaffolding system.
2. Placing the base jacks: Place the base jacks on the base plates or the ground according to the scaffolding system's construction dimensions.
3. Installing the scaffolding vertical support columns: Insert the scaffolding system's vertical (standard/frame) into the base jacks, ensuring they are vertical before connecting the scaffolding ledgers.
4. Adjusting the base jack level: After the first layer of scaffolding is erected, adjust the height of each scaffolding vertical standard by rotating the base jack nut to keep the scaffolding system level.
5. Building height: Repeat the erection process until the scaffolding system meets the required height and width. Use a spirit level for final measurements to ensure the safety of the scaffolding system.
Scaffolding Jack Use Precautions:
1. Regularly check the scaffolding leveling jacks for damage, bending, displacement, or other abnormalities, and adjust them promptly.
2. Adjustments should be made in small, precise increments to maintain the balance of the scaffolding system.
3. Check the safety margin, ensuring that at least one-third of the threaded rod of the base jack is inside the scaffolding vertical standard.
EK Scaffolding mainly produces high-quality scaffolding leveling jacks and can provide all types of base jacks from 450mm to 1500mm. Whether it's a standard base jack or a custom-made base jack for special needs, we can meet your requirements.
