A shore post is an independent load-bearing component characterized by its high load-bearing capacity, ease of use, and precise adjustability. It can be used alone or in conjunction with a formwork system. Shore posts are also known as shoring posts, steel props, scaffolding props, acrow props, and post shore jacks. Based on load-bearing capacity, shore posts are also categorized into different weight classes: light duty shoring posts supporting loads up to 10 pounds; middle duty shoring posts supporting loads up to 20 pounds; and heavy duty shoring posts supporting loads up to 56 pounds. When using a shore post, the load should be evenly distributed throughout the scaffolding system.
