Scaffolding plank is common in high-altitude construction projects, especially on construction sites, and is an important part of the scaffolding system. Steel scaffolding plank is mainly used to provide workers with a safe and stable working platform or passage in places that cannot be reached on the ground, so that workers can carry out construction or maintenance work in higher areas. Scaffolding steel plank is also very adaptable and can be used on a variety of scaffolding systems, such as Ringlock scaffolding, Cuplock scaffolding, Kwikstage scaffolding, Frame scaffolding, etc.

Steel plank is the most common type of scaffolding board. The steel scaffolding walk board produced by EK generally uses Q235 steel as raw material, and the surface of the scaffolding walk board can be galvanized as needed. Steel scaffolding walk board has the characteristics of flame retardancy, firmness, durability, and corrosion resistance, and is often used in heavy-duty applications or construction projects with high fire protection requirements.

Advantages of Steel Plank

Strong load-bearing capacity: The raw material used for steel scaffolding plank is Q235 steel, which has a strong load-bearing capacity and can support heavy equipment, tools and workers, and is suitable for use on heavy projects.

Strong corrosion resistance: The surface of steel plank will be galvanized, which can effectively prevent corrosion, can be used in humid environments, and has a longer service life.

Flame retardant: Compared with wooden plank, steel plank is more suitable for high-temperature operations, such as petrochemical, oil, natural gas and other industries.

Easy to maintain: Scaffolding plank requires little maintenance and is easy to clean.

High cost performance: Although the price of steel walk board is higher, it is durable, has low maintenance requirements, and has a longer service life. It can reduce the number of replacements and reduce the cost of the entire project, and the cost performance is higher.

Disadvantages of Scaffolding Steel Plank

High cost: The price of steel walk board is higher than other materials.

Heavy weight: Made of Q235 steel material, it is heavier than other materials.

Expensive transportation price: Due to its heavy weight, the transportation cost is also relatively high.

Maintenance and storage of steel scaffolding plank

1. Clean and store scaffolding plank regularly

Scaffolding plank should be cleaned regularly during use to remove dirt, debris and contaminants. Avoid using harsh chemicals or corrosive cleaners to extend the service life of scaffolding steel plank and reuse it.

2. Apply protective coating

In order to extend the service life, you can confirm with the scaffolding manufacturer at the time of purchase to apply a layer of anti-corrosion and durable protective coating on the scaffolding plank.

3. Proper storage

The scaffolding plank needs to be stored in a dry and ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, rain and other weather factors, to prevent moisture corrosion and physical damage.

How to use scaffolding plank safely?

First of all, you need to understand the load-bearing capacity and load distribution of the scaffolding steel plank before use, and evenly distribute the load to prevent exceeding the load-bearing load. You also need to check whether the scaffolding plank has any signs of damage, such as cracks, warping or other corrosion, and replace it in time if damaged. During use, the scaffolding walk board needs to be installed correctly to ensure that the steel scaffolding walk board is stably fixed on the scaffolding system. It also needs to be checked regularly for any damage or defects.
