Many people who do not know about scaffolds will think that there is only one kind of scaffold during construction. Actually, there are different types of scaffolds, which are generally divided into suspended type, supported type and overhead type. Next, EK, a professional scaffolding manufacturer, will introduce to you what these scaffolds are and when they are most suitable for use. This can help you better select the manufacturer of scaffold production equipment.

Supported Scaffolding

The most common is the supporting scaffold. Usually this kind of scaffold is composed of steel prop, steel plank and frames. When climbing this kind of scaffold, it is necessary to use a ladder. The platform on the scaffold for workers to stand is called steel plank. Frames are generally divided into fixed and flexible. Fixed scaffolds are like single scaffolds or double scaffolds. Flexible scaffolds only need to fix a group of wheels on the base.

If there is no space problem, the general scaffolding manufacturers will use this kind of scaffold.

Suspended Scaffolding

Suspended scaffolds are usually hung on the roof with wires, ropes or chains. The most common form of suspended scaffold is two-point scaffold or swing scaffold. It is suspended on the elevated structure by two groups of cables or ropes, and then connected to the stirrups on both sides of the platform.

The advantage of suspended scaffolding is that it does not require large-scale construction of supporting scaffolding, so it can be used for smaller projects. Such as repairing or painting the outside of a building or house. the strength of the cable will limit the number of workers on the suspended scaffold.

Aerial Lifts

Another kind of scaffold is also called aerial lift. The types of aerial lifts include electric scissor lift, personnel lift, electric boom lift, linear telescopic lift, towable boom lift and atrium lift.

The advantage of this scaffold is that it does not need construction, and the equipment is easy to move. It is generally used in service lines, such as cables or telephones; Hard to reach position of paint; Window cleaning, especially in skyscrapers; On the farm, when pruning trees or picking fruit. In such short-term construction projects, the use of the whole scaffold is uneconomical and a waste of time, so the general scaffolding manufacturers will recommend the use of high-altitude lifts.
