Cuplok Scaffolding HDG Galvanized Standard Vertical

Product Description

There are generally two methods for welding cuplock standards: manual welding and machine welding.

Manual welding refers to manual arc welding. First, spot welding is used to fix the bottom cups and located pins to the cuplock vertical tube, then full welding is performed. The welding direction is from bottom to top, ensuring the components are firmly welded to the cuplock vertical tube and avoiding common weld bead or porosity defects found in upright welding.
Machine welding includes CO₂ gas shielded welding and resistance welding. Gas shielded welding has a large penetration depth, less spatter, and a high degree of automation, making it suitable for mass production. Most scaffolding manufacturers use CO₂ gas shielded welding. Resistance welding equipment has a higher investment cost, but it has a smaller heat-affected zone on the base material, and the joint strength can reach over 95% of the base material's strength. It is typically used for cuplock vertical tube extensions.

Key Points and Quality Control for Cuplock Stansards Welding

1. The welding surfaces of the cuplock vertical tube and the cuplock need to be ground smooth to avoid impurities such as oil and moisture affecting the weld quality.
2. The weld should be free of defects such as cracks and lack of fusion, with an undercut depth ≤ 0.5mm (as specified in JGJ 166-2016).
3. For high-strength steels such as Q345, post-weld treatment at 250℃ for 2 hours is required to reduce the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking.

EK Cuplock Scaffolding vertical welding is mainly divided into three steps:

1. Adjust the tooling equipment distance and determine the bottom cups interval. Use spot welding to fix the bottom cups and located pins to the vertical tube.
2. Located pins full weld, that make sure the located pins are firmly fixed to the vertical tube.
3. Bottom cups full weld, that to ensure the stability of the bottom cups and ensure the safety index in the construction and use.
