Ringlock scaffolding features a modular design that enhances the system's reusability. Selecting the right components depends on project requirements, application scenarios, material quality, and regulatory standards. Using appropriate Ringlock components ensures safety throughout the construction project.

Selection Guide for Key Components

Component Name

Key Selection Parameters

Selection & Application Recommendations

Rosette

Thickness should be 8mm

High-quality rosettes should be at least 8mm thick with a tolerance within 0.5mm; otherwise, striking the wedge pin can easily deform or crack the rosette.

Standard

Outer diameter 48.3mm or 60mm; rosette spacing 500mm

For heavy-duty loads or shoring (e.g., bridge girder construction), prioritize 60mm thick-walled standards; for general exterior scaffolding, use 48.3mm standard uprights.

Ledger

Length 0.6m–3.0m; connectors feature integrated wedge pins

Lift height (vertical distance between ledgers) is typically set at 1.5m or 2.0m. Ledger length determines the scaffold grid size; heavy-duty scaffolds should use shorter spans (e.g., 0.9m–1.2m).

Diagonal Brace

Vertical and horizontal braces; connect to the large holes on the rosette

Shoring and high-rise exterior scaffolds require vertical braces to form a stable triangular lattice. Arrange according to standards (at specific bay intervals) to enhance overall shear resistance.

Base/Head Jack

Adjustment screw length 300mm–600mm; solid or hollow threaded rod

Adjusts for uneven ground and scaffold height. Screw extension must remain within safety limits (usually ≤300mm); base jacks require timber pads to distribute pressure.

Steel Planks & Ladders

Hot-dip galvanized steel planks featuring anti-slip perforations and safety hooks with anti-dislodgement locks.

They must be installed to create a continuous walkway, with widths matched to the horizontal member span to ensure slip resistance and secure locking against wind uplift.

Selection Guide for Materials and Manufacturing Processes

Steel Material: Prioritize high-strength low-alloy steel (e.g., Q355B), which offers significantly higher load-bearing capacity compared to conventional Q235 steel.

Surface Treatment: Prioritize hot-dip galvanizing with a coating thickness of at least 60 microns. This ensures a protective layer on both inner and outer surfaces, a uniform coating free from peeling, and an anti-corrosion lifespan of 15–20 years; while the initial cost is higher, the long-term depreciation cost is very low. Avoid painted or cold-galvanized components, which are prone to rusting.

Rosette Welding Quality: Rosettes on the vertical standards must be welded using fully automated production lines. Welds should be full, smooth, and uniform, with no missed spots, ensuring the rosette does not fail due to shear stress under load.

Compliance and Certification: Ensure components meet the standards of the region of use—such as EN 12810/12811 (Europe), OSHA standards (USA), or the JGJ231 code (China).
