Ringlock scaffolding systems are very popular in the construction industry due to their durability, flexibility, and ease of assembly. Many of our new customers who have purchased ringlock scaffolding encounter problems during assembly. Therefore, this page will introduce how to assemble a ringlock scaffolding system.

First, identify the components of the ringlock scaffolding system.

The components of a ringlock scaffolding system include: ringlock standard (vertical), ringlock ledger (horizontal bar), ringlock diagonal brace, stairs, scaffolding toe board, scaffolding plank, scaffolding trapdoor platform, scaffolding handrail, base jack, etc.

In the ringlock standard, a ringlock rosette is welded every 500mm to connect the ledger, diagonal brace, handrail, and other components. The difference between a ledger and a diagonal brace is that the ledger's joints are fixed, while the diagonal brace's joints are rotatable. Typically, ledgers use welding to connect the ledger head, while diagonal braces use riveting.

Scaffolding planks, scaffolding trapdoor platforms, and stairs all have hooks at both ends for securing them to the ledger.

Base jacks are used to increase the contact area between the scaffolding and the ground, making the scaffolding more stable. Swivel base jacks can be used on uneven ground.

Scaffolding toe boards are placed around the scaffolding plank to prevent items from falling off.

Once all components are confirmed, the ringlock scaffolding system can be assembled.

Step 1: Place the base jacks according to the actual conditions of the construction site and vertically install the standard on the base jacks.

Step 2: Connect every two standards using a ledger. Insert the ledger head into the standard's ringlock rosette and tap the ledger pin with a hammer to secure it.

Step 3: Tighten the base jack nuts to level the scaffolding.

Step 4: Connect the ringlock diagonal braces in a diagonal crisscross pattern.

Step 5: Typically, install one layer of ledgers every meter.

Step 6: Install the staircase between the first and second layers. Secure the bottom of the staircase to the first-layer ledger and the top to the second or third-layer ledger.

Step 7: Install handrails on the inside of the staircase. Diagonal braces can be used instead of handrails on the outside; the inside requires separate installation. The installation method is similar to that of diagonal braces, connecting them to the ringlock standard.

Step 8: Place the scaffolding plank and scaffolding trapdoor platform on the ledger at the top of the stairs. Note that the scaffolding trapdoor platform's door should face inwards.

Step 9: Install the scaffolding toe board.

Step 10: Install the second layer. Connect the second standard to the top of the first standard. If there is no connecting component at the top of the standard, an inner joint pin or base collar can be used. Repeat steps 4-8 until the system reaches the desired height.

Step 11: After the entire ringlock scaffolding system is assembled, it needs to be inspected to ensure that each component is properly connected and the scaffolding system is in a safe condition.

It is important to note that if any loose connections or defective components are found during assembly, it is essential to confirm with an engineer whether they can continue to be used and to clearly mark the components. During use, the ringlock scaffolding needs to be inspected regularly to ensure its stability and integrity.

This page should have given you a basic understanding of assembling a ringlock scaffolding system. If you still have questions during practical application, please feel free to contact us. EK, as a professional scaffolding manufacturer, has its own technical team and can provide you with professional guidance services. In addition to the ringlock scaffolding system, we also offer other popular steel scaffolding systems, such as cuplock scaffolding, frame scaffolding, Kwikstage scaffolding, etc.
